The Bullwheel Slam is a competitive storytelling event where adventurous folks spin their yarns, get judged by their peers, and one "Bullwheeler" emerges victorious!
Tell a story that actually happened to you, as you remember it happening. It should be true to the best of your recollection. Some minor fuzziness or reconstruction is okay—just don’t invent major events or characters. You may also choose to change names to protect the guilty.
Each storyteller has a limited time to tell their story.
Please finish promptly so the event flows smoothly.
Stories should be told, not read. You may rehearse, but on stage you should speak naturally and from memory.
Your story should center on your own lived experience, not second-hand accounts.
The story should stand on its own—no slides, objects, instruments, or visual aids.
We welcome bold, vulnerable stories, but hate speech, harassment, or intentionally harmful content is not allowed. The host may stop a performance if needed.
The Bullwheel Slam is about sharing real human experiences. Lean into honesty, vulnerability, humor, and adventure.
